Desiree Ong is a Singaporean who grew up on American, British, and Southeast Asian television and music. Desiree moved to San Francisco in 2009 and studied at the Academy of Art University for Animation VFX and Illustration and is lucky to call Portland, Oregon home, with her husband and dog Raindrop!
In the last ten years, she worked for Ponoko, Fon Co, Laika, and Shadow Machine. Her notable contributions are to Laika's Oscar, and Golden Globe-nominated film Kubo and the Two Strings and Missing Link, "A Golden Globe Award win for Best Animated feature film." Her latest project is an upcoming stop-motion animated feature directed by Guillermo del Toro, "Pinocchio" by Netflix.
She's a Cartophile and loves illustrating and exploring things related to nature, the ocean, and the outdoors.
