Desiree Ong is a Singaporean Southeast Asian Peranakan. She's a tinkerer, problem solver, and a curious lady, who has worked for feature films, commercials, industrial design, and her own endeavors. She grew up on American, British, and Southeast Asian television and music. Desiree moved to San Francisco in 2009 and studied at the Academy of Art University for Animation VFX and Illustration. Over the last 10 years, she worked for Ponoko, Fon Co, Laika, and Netflix. Her notable contributions are to Laika's Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated film, Kubo and the Two Strings and Missing Link "A Golden Globe Award win for Best Animated feature film" as their Graphic Designer and End Credit Layout Artist. Her latest project is working for Netflix's upcoming stop-motion animated feature film directed by Guillermo del Toro, "Pinocchio". Desiree enjoys making food, experiencing nature, and being outdoors. She's always interested in listening to the various stories of other people's lives and likes to be surrounded by people who inspire others to aspire. She loves caricaturing her experiences and translating them into engaging pictures for games and animation. Desiree wants to learn how to code and dabbles her work in AR and E-learning technology.
